Lycoming College Music Gala Concert at the Community Arts Center

The Lycoming College Music Department will hold its second annual Music Gala Concert on Thursday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Arts Center, located on Fourth Street in Williamsport. This event is free and open to the public.

The Lycoming College Music Gala II will include the premiere of the Tide Rises by James Hirt. The concert will feature the Lycoming College Concert Band, Lycoming College Concert Choir, Lycoming College Community Orchestra and the Lycoming College Chamber Choir.

Amanda Gunderson, assistant professor of music, will play piano for the "Mozart Piano Concerto No. 21." The orchestra will play several works, including Morton Gould's American Salute. The choir will perform music from South America, Australia and the United States.

"It's a good vibe," said William Ciabattari, associate professor of music and director of bands at Lycoming College, "There's a lot of variety and we have four pieces that combine either band and choir or orchestra and choir – we expect it to be a fun show for all."
