Bold ideas are welcomed and supported. Take Warrior Coffee for instance. Started as a conversation in the classroom, students and faculty from biology, chemistry, education, political science and the Spanish departments now colaborate with growers in the Dominican Republic to help preserve natural habitats while creating organic, shade-grown coffees. Why is this important you ask? It helps farmers escape poverty by guaranteeing a minimum price for their coffee, thereby sustaining families and ensuring the health and safety of growers. Now that’s bold! The City of Williamsport. Williamsport is a city on the move. It is alive with great attractions, has a burgeoning artist and culinary community and vibrant downtown, yet it is the only city in North Central Pennsylvania. This means that in as little as 15 minutes, you can be out hiking, biking, paddling, canoeing or even rock-climbing! Perhaps most important is knowing that there are thriving business communities throughout the Susquehanna Valley who welcome Lycoming students as interns, volunteers, and even as new hires. Furthermore, within just a few hours, you can be in New York City, Philadelphia, and even Washington, D.C. You get the best of both worlds.
