The American Studies minor gives students an in-depth look at American civilization from colonial times to the present day. This is an excellent minor for students wishing to build and improve their research, writing and critical thinking skills.

To fulfill the requirements for the minor, students may take a variety of courses in music, theatre, history, politics and government. The program also includes a sampling of courses on economic problems and even organized crime.

The American Studies minor enriches most any major and assists in preparing students for careers in museums, historical societies, journalism, law, civil service and education.
