Visiting Assistant Professor of Astrophysics (3-year position)

Position Summary:

The Department of Astronomy & Physics at Lycoming College invites applications for a full-time visiting Assistant Professor in any area of astrophysics. The successful candidate will teach a three-course per semester load consisting of undergraduate courses in both physics and astronomy, as well as courses for non-majors. We seek candidates who are committed to initiating an active research program in astrophysics which will involve undergraduate participation in a small liberal arts college environment. Applicants must possess a doctorate or will have completed a doctorate by August 2019 in astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or a related field and demonstrate excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. The department offers a B.S. in astrophysics, both a B.A. and a B.S. in physics, a B.S. in engineering physics, and a B.A. in astronomy, with approximately 40 majors distributed among its various degree programs.
