Night Custodian

Position Summary:

Lycoming College seeks applications for Night Custodian.  Custodians perform routine and non-routine custodial maintenance as part of a team assigned to specific buildings or areas on campus.  Responsibilities include the proper use of custodial materials, supplies and equipment to perform custodial maintenance services.  Specific duties include dusting, polishing, floor cleaning, cleaning interior and exterior surfaces, trash and recyclable materials removal.  Custodians may assist with set-up of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences and special events.  The night shift position is scheduled to work 9 pm to 5:30 am Sunday through Thursday.  Excellent benefit package including health insurance, retirement plan, tuition remission benefits for dependents, life and long-term disability insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick days.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent; one year of industrial or commercial cleaning experience preferred.  Must be personable, a team player, and able to follow oral and written instructions.  Physical requirements include the ability to frequently bend, kneel, stoop, push/pull, reach above and below shoulder height, routinely lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs. unassisted, move objects greater than 25 lbs.(up to 50 lbs.) with assistance as needed.  Must be able to climb, work on stools, ladders and stairs.  Post-offer, pre-employment drug screening and current Act 34 criminal background clearance required.
