Gift Records & Advancement Operations Specialist

Position Summary:

Lycoming College seeks applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Gift Records & Advancement Operations Specialist. The Gift Records & Advancement Operations Specialist serves as the advancement office’s lead gifts processor and reporter.  This position works closely with the director of advancement services to produce advancement reports, execute projects for the advancement division, and support the department’s operational functions. Other major components of the position are performing special projects for the development and alumni offices, conducting basic prospect research functions, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies, stewarding support for endowed funds, Raiser’s Edge database support, and financial reporting to the business office.  The typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday,  8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional evening and weekend work required. 


Required Experience & Qualifications:

Associates degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 2 years significant experience in an office required.  Successful candidates must have knowledge of fundraising, research and prospect management principles; must be well-organized; must have excellent interpersonal skills to interact with diverse constituencies and respond to inquiries with accurate and timely information; have strong communication skills (both verbal and written); ability to work both independently and as part of a team; excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet).  Working environment includes the ability to work in an open office area with frequent interruption and foot traffic; the ability to lift, carry and move work-related materials, supplies and equipment weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted; ascending and descending stairs and the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer.
