Administrative Assistant for Advancement

Position Summary:

Lycoming College seeks applications for a full-time, benefits-eligible Administrative Assistant for Advancement. Primary responsibilities include performing administrative support functions, project management, and providing travel support.  A successful candidate will work closely with the annual giving team on solicitation and stewardship efforts, and serve as the first point of contact for guests in the advancement suite.  The typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with occasional evening hours, overtime hours and weekend work required.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of 2 years significant experience in a fast-paced executive office required.  Successful candidates must be well-organized and multi-task with ease; have excellent interpersonal skills to interact frequently with diverse constituencies and respond to inquiries with accurate and timely information; have strong communication skills (both verbal and written); ability to work both independently and as part of a team; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook) with demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new applications.  This position requires the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.  Working environment requirements include the ability to work in an office area with frequent interruption, the ability to lift, carry and deliver material weighing up to 30 pounds unassisted, ascending and descending stairs, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer.
