Himes/Sweeney Visiting Scholar series to feature poet and essayist

The Lycoming College English Department will continue its Himes/Sweeney Visiting Scholar in Creative Writing series with readings by poet Stephen Dunn and essayist Barbara Hurd. The event will be held Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Lycoming College English and creative writing professor Sascha Feinstein, Ph.D., has been selected as the keynote speaker for “Jazz in Word: European (Non-)Fiction,” an international conference presented by the University of Vienna that will be held at the Amerika-Haus in Vienna, Austria, May 22-24.

The winter 2013 issue of “Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz & Literature” is now available. The journal, which features jazz-related poetry, fiction and non-fiction, is edited by Sascha Feinstein, Ph.D., professor of English and creative writing at Lycoming College.

Professor releases new book of poetry

Dr. Sascha Feinstein, professor of English at Lycoming College, recently released his second collection of poetry, "Ajanta's Ledge." A book-signing will be held at Otto's bookstore in downtown Williamsport on Friday, Oct. 5, from 5-8 p.m. Copies are also available at the College's Streeter Campus Store.

The 2012 summer issue of Brilliant Corners: A Journal of Jazz & Literature has been released. Dr. Sascha Feinstein, the journal's founding editor, is an English professor at Lycoming College. Jazz pianists Bruce Barth and Eri Yamamoto will perform a joint concert at Lycoming College on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall. The concert, sponsored by "Brilliant Corners," is free and open to the public.
