Class of 2020 Commencement Information & Schedule

Commencement Information

The Lycoming College community looks forward to celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2020 on May 22. We hope your visit to the campus on Commencement Weekend will be memorable.

Commencement Ceremony

Commencement will be held outside on the Fultz Quad, rain or shine. The ceremony begins at 2 p.m. There is open seating for guests on the Fultz Quad with chairs set up per COVID-19 protocols. All guests must wear face coverings. The ceremony takes place in an unshaded area of the Fultz Quad; please dress accordingly.

Commencement Tickets

Each graduate will receive four guest tickets in the mail for the ceremony due to COVID-19 protocols. The ceremony will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person.

Commencement Announcements

Announcements may be ordered online at www.jostens.com/apps/store/customer/1043359/Lycoming-College/. Once your order is placed with Jostens, you can expect to receive your announcements in approximately two weeks.

Commencement Photographs

A professional photograph will be taken as graduates receive their diplomas from President Trachte, and another will be taken as they descend the platform holding their diplomas. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you please stay seated and do not approach the platform during the ceremony to take pictures. Picture proofs will be emailed and mailed to each graduate after the ceremony. Special Needs

Seating for individuals with disabilities is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ushers and Commencement volunteers will be available to assist in locating accessible seating. For special needs assistance, please call Tracy Miles at 570-321-4347 or email miles@lycoming.edu.

Arrival on Campus & Parking

Guests are encouraged to park in the Academic Center and Mulberry Street parking lots in any available space. Upon arrival, proceed to a tent in the Academic Center parking lot and present your ticket to an employee who will guide you through COVID-19 symptom and temperature screening. Guests who successfully complete their screening will receive a wrist band, we ask that you wear during your time on campus. Guests who are not able to pass the screening will need to depart campus immediately. All guests must complete screening protocols before they are seated.

Alcohol Policy

While you are on campus, we ask that you adhere to the College's alcohol policy, which permits those students and guests who are at least 21 years of age to possess or consume alcohol. Your adherence to the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to this College policy will help ensure seniors, families, and guests a most enjoyable weekend.

12:00 p.m. Check-In and Commencement Line-up for graduates in Keiper Recreation Center
Check in and sign the wooden "20" class numbers before lining up for Commencement. Academic regalia including caps, gowns, hoods, and organizational cords and sashes were sent to you in the mail last spring. Please bring them with you to wear for Commencement.  Honors cords and athletic sashes will be available at commencement check-in (if applicable).

1 p.m. Carillon Concert
Fultz Quad

1:30 p.m. Lycoming College Concert Band
Fultz Quad

2 p.m. Commencement
Fultz Quad (rain or shine). Ceremonial opening of The Oliver Sterling Metzler Gates and Processional for Commencement. There is open seating for guests on the Fultz Quad with chairs set up per COVID-19 protocols. All guests must wear face coverings. The ceremony takes place in an unshaded area of the Fultz Quad; please dress accordingly.
