Spend 19 days with Art faculty learning about the art and culture of Barcelona. Paint, draw, sketch and photograph the stunning architecture, open markets, street art and history of this fascinating city. Meet Spanish artists and art students. Experience the latest virtual reality innovations as we explore Antoni Gaudí’s Casa Batlló. View the city from the roof of Gaudí’s La Pedrera, then visit his masterpiece, La Sagrada Família, and his whimsical Parc Güell. Study artists associated with Barcelona at the world renowned Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art, the Picasso Museum, Fundación Joan Miró, Fundació Antoni Tàpies, the National Art Museum of Catalonia and The Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. Stroll la Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter; sample Tapas and Barcelona night life. We will leave on May 13, 2018, and all students except Art History students will return to campus for a final studio week after the trip. The last day of class will be June 8. Visit the May term travel section of the CEAE website for more information and application details. Itinerary and costs will be posted as soon as they are available.
