Assumptions are common to make amongst individuals. We draw conclusions about others all of the time based on what we see and the stereotypes that we are conditioned to believe. In my exhibition, I focus on the concept of appearance versus the truth that underlies assumptions, particularly regarding how females are seen in society. Additionally, my work touches upon other problems including female toxicity, body image, eating disorders, and sexual assault. I wanted to draw more attention to these issues, because they cause females to feel inadequate, especially in the modern world with social media use. All of my pieces relate to my opinions or experience, and how I interpret the world.
