Consulting Psychologist for Disability Services
Dr. Beery has been a member of the Lycoming College Psychology Department since 1999. She is also currently consulting with the Academic Resource Center in providing educational planning and assistance to students with disabilities. Dr. Beery received her B.A. degree in Psychology from Duke University and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology specializing in children, adolescents, and families from the University of Miami (Florida). She has worked at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic conducting diagnostic evaluations, behavior therapy, and school consultation/IEP meetings for clients with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and other disabilities. She has also worked locally for the Susquehanna Health System (Williamsport Hospital and Divine Providence Hospital) conducting neuropsychological and other diagnostic psychological evaluations, school consultation/IEP meetings, and psychotherapy for children and adolescents with a variety of difficulties including ADHD, LDs, Asperger's Disorder/Autism, Anxiety, Depression, and Traumatic Brain Injury. Her teaching and clinical interests focus on helping parents and schools better meet the educational and mental health needs of children and adolescents with Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and other psychological/behavioral difficulties. Dr. Beery teaches Introductory Psychology, Abnormal Child Psychology, Learning Differences, Behavior Modification/Applied Behavior Analysis, and Clinical Practicum.
