LYCOMING OFFERS ALUMNI REFERRAL SCHOLARSHIP Lycoming College has established an Alumni Referral Scholarship program, affording alumni the chance to assist incoming freshmen and transfer students in achieving their higher education goals by helping them save as much as $4,000 during the course of their studies at Lycoming. The $1,000 scholarship is renewable for four years as long as the student maintains full-time status and remains within good academic standing. The program requires alumni to submit a referral form through the College’s website along with a letter of recommendation for the prospective student. In addition to helping students save money, the Alumni Referral Scholarship program allows alumni to help shape the future of the College by actively recruiting the best and brightest students to join the Lycoming community. NOTEWO LYCOMING COLLEGE CONTINUES TO BE RECOGNIZED AS TOP LIBERAL ARTS INSTITUTION Lycoming College rose to the 101 st spot in the Washington Monthly Liberal Arts 2017 rankings, representing an increase of 80 positions in two years. Washington Monthly rates schools on contributions to the public good in three categories, including social mobility, research and service to their country. Lycoming’s current standing reflects its commitment to offering a distinctive liberal arts education, including the benefit of enhanced academic experiences, to promising students, regardless of their ability to pay. Already recognized by Colleges of Distinction for its innovative approach to higher education, Lycoming was further honored in 2017 for its expert integration of the liberal arts with a modern approach to scholarship that includes experiential learning opportunities for both business administration and education programs. Lycoming was named a College of Distinction for its engaging student body, excellence in teaching, vibrant residential campus community and for guiding students toward successful post-college careers. Lastly, Lycoming was once again recognized as a Tier One institution by U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, climbing seven spots from last year — and a total of 17 spots over the past two years — to claim the No. 147 slot on the coveted 2018 National Liberal Arts Colleges list. Lycoming’s ascent in the rankings, coupled with the recent announcement that it was named to the Princeton Review Best 382 Colleges for the first time, points to Lycoming’s commitment to the liberal arts and its capacity to deliver an extraordinary education for students.
