(history) represented Lycoming

College during the Presidential

Inauguration of Dr. George F.

Harpster.

Cassandra (Funk) Ramsey

(psychology) transitioned to

the software industry from

10 years of higher education

operations, as a curriculum

and content developer for

CampusNexus® CRM at Campus

Management Corporation in

September 2014. In her role,

she writes and delivers CRM

trainings via live webinars,

self-paced courses, conference

presentations and virtual

instructor-led trainings for the

higher education industry.

Chan Ung

(economics, finance)

is currently attending Widener

University’s graduate family

nurse practitioner’s program.

2005

Staci Bender

(creative

writing) graduated from

Drexel University with a

Master of Science in technical

communication.

Brad Webb

(history) accepted

a position as an assistant dean

in the School of Industrial,

Computing and Engineering

Technologies at Pennsylvania

College of Technology.

Kevin Socha

(actuarial math)

has completed the Leadership

Chester County Program, which

educates people interested in

serving nonprofit organizations,

introduces them to human

service needs and shows

them how business acumen

can assist nonprofit agencies.

Socha was sponsored by his

company, Voya Financial, where

he leads volunteerism and

employee giving programs at

the West Chester office. In 2015,

employees completed more

than 5,000 hours of service and

raised $375,000 dollars.

Literary Agency and is a

graduate of Rosemont College’s

Master of Fine Arts program.

Her short stories have also

been published in numerous

literary journals. She lives with

her husband and daughter in

Downingtown, Pa.

2007

Jackie (Purcell) Pollard,

Ed.D.,

(psychology) completed

her doctorate of education in

school psychology at Indiana

University of Pennsylvania in

August 2015. She has been

practicing as a full-time school

psychologist with Red Clay

Consolidated School District

in Wilmington, Del., since the

completion of her master’s

degree and school psychologist

certification in 2010. She is the

psychologist on the District

Autism Team.

2008

Jessica Noel

(art, education

certification) received the

Pennsylvania Art Education

Association (PAEA) 2016

Outstanding Elementary Art

Educator Award.

Hannah

White-Gibson,

Esq.,

(political

science), an

associate

attorney with

Saidis, Sullivan

& Rogers, was

recently elected

to the Carlisle

YWCA Board of Directors.

White-Gibson will continue her

service as a member of the Board

Governance Committee while

promoting the mission of the

Carlisle YWCA.

Joelle (Jameson) Carson

(creative writing) moved to

Texas in 2014 to work at the

University of Houston as a writer

for University Advancement.

Publications in 2015 include

poems in

Salamander, Measure,

Graze

magazine and various

online publications, and art

criticism in the

Houston Press

and

Aeqai

. She received a Master of

Fine Arts in poetry from Emerson

College in 2012.

Alexis Bortle

(corporate

communications) accepted a

position working within the

Tompkins County Solid Waste

Division as a communications

specialist. She is responsible for

the marketing and promotion

of all programs provided to the

residents and business partners

In November 2015, Ashley

Concini ’06, Laura Lockard ’05,

and Erin Karschner ’05 traveled

to South Africa to visit Laura

Smith ’06, who currently lives

and works in Pretoria. They went

on a three-day safari outside

Kruger National Park and enjoyed

the sites of Cape Town, including

the penguins at Boulders Beach.

2006

William Joseph Anthony

(criminal justice) graduated

with honors from Kutztown

University, earning a master’s in

social work. He was a member

of Phi Alpha National Social

Work honor society, and was

the commencement speaker

for the School of Liberal Arts,

Visual Arts and Sciences. He is

a case manager at St. Luke’s

University Hospital in Fountain

Hill, Pa.

Ryan Bolig

(accounting) is now

an active chartered financial

analyst after having passed the

level 3 CFA exam in June 2015.

David McElwee

(history and

political science) graduated

from Wesley Theological

Seminary in Washington

D.C., with a Master of Divinity

degree in May 2015. He is

serving with the McElhattan

United Methodist Church in

McElhattan, Pa.

Jennifer Fenn

(creative

writing) sold her young adult

novel, “Flight,” about an

airplane thief on the run after

fleeing a juvenile home and

stealing not one, but three

airplanes, to Roaring Brook

Press, a Macmillan imprint, in

a two-book deal. The novel is

slated for a Spring 2017 release.

was sworn-in for a four-

year term as the Mayor of

Frenchtown Borough, N.J., on

Jan. 1.
