then NOW } THE MARY LINDSAY WELCH HONORS HALL Built in 1884 as a meeting place for the local German Turn Verein social club, the building was later used for a variety of purposes, including a church and as a site for several businesses. Lycoming College purchased the property in 1999, and after extensive restoration and interior modification, the building was dedicated in 2005. The facility contains a meditation chapel as well as the Shangraw Performance Hall in which numerous musical performances and lectures are held each year.
