SUPPORTING FUTURE WARRIORS Arthur Haberberger ’59 ’11H graduated from Lycoming College with a degree in business administration, which has served him well in several executive positions at large companies throughout his career. During his time as a student, Haberberger most appreciated the excellent faculty who worked closely with the students to ensure they succeeded. He also fondly recalls the many good friendships he made along the way. Haberberger simply states that Lycoming helped him succeed, so it’s his responsibility to give back. “Joanne and I understand the financial support that so many students require. Affordability is the most significant issue today.” The Haberbergers have been generous supporters of the mission of the College. They have personally supported the creation of more than 60 new student scholarships, one being the Arthur and Joanne Haberberger Math and Science Endowed Scholarship to support STEM initiatives. They have also endowed the Clean Water Institute’s Laboratory Endowment Fund and created endowments to support student intern positions. The Haberberger Fellowships were created and endowed to provide permanent support and recognition to high academic achieving rising seniors who display exceptional research and scholarship. “STEM is a hot topic today, and the opportunities for graduates are outstanding. Supporting STEM and research opportunities is a great investment,” said Haberberger. “For six years as chair of the board of trustees at Lycoming, I had the pleasure to shake about 1,600 hands of smiling and inspired students as they walked across the stage on graduation day,” he said. “That generates a different perspective on life. What better investment can any donor make than helping need-based and merit-based students graduate from college? These students are our future.” Lycoming helped me, therefore I owe Lycoming.” “
