AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING was all about “flight, rockets, airplanes, and kites,” said the teacher, Mr. James Rogers III.
Collin Lakatos was working on constructing a card stock (paper) glider on Tuesday.
Rogers said that the purposes of the class were to learn about air flight and have fun.
Matt Goetz said, “I think it is great!”
The class also tested balsa wood planes and enjoyed launching water rockets that they had made with two liter soda bottles, cardboard, plastic bags, string and assorted other things, depending on the rocket.
On Wednesday, they set off their water rockets.
Greg Schneider said he picked this class because he “likes bottle rockets.”
Ben Lysak picked the class because he “thought it would be a good experience.”
The difference between bottle rockets and water rockets is that the water rockets use pressure from the water and the bottle rockets use engines to give them power.
On the last day, they launched bottle rockets on the soccer field on Mulberry Street at 10:30 AM. They entertained the students until 12:30 PM. |
