Do you think you know how to use a camera? The kids in
Candid Camera do! This week they learned how to not only take,
but also develop pictures. Mrs. Stephanie Carey, the instructor, has been teaching kids going into fifth through eighth grade for
four years.
Mrs. Carey said, “I love this class because I love photography, and I love to share my knowledge with kids.
Tuesday afternoon, the class went on a field trip around Williamsport and took black and white pictures. Also, Mrs. Carey took a picture of the whole class in town.
Mrs. Carey commented, “I would sign up for this class if I was a little girl.”
Wednesday afternoon, the class went to the darkroom to develop their black and white pictures of the city.
“I enjoy watching the kids learning to use their cameras and developing their first prints in the darkroom,” Mrs. Carey added.
“If am able to take Candid Camera next year, I would,” Jen Borch said one afternoon. “I learned a lot about using cameras I don’t have, such as adjusting settings and trying different types of film.”
“I think it’s really fun to take this class,” Bayli Kurtz added. “Going to the darkroom and rolling up our film was fun. But my favorite thing was walking around Williamsport and taking pictures of different things.”
Mrs. Stephanie Carey had the students develop their
own prints in the DARK! “I think it’s fun. I like being in the
darkroom,” Jen Borch said.
When asked about Ms. Carey, Bayli and Jen agreed,
“I think she’s really nice.”
Also, “I think she is a good photographer,” Bayli Kurtz
added.
On Frid ay, the class displayed their photographs in the Fine Arts Building in room 116. |
