Be a Detective

I think I saw some footprints behind the old school house. Whose could they be? Whose could they be? Ms. Jen Stinner teaches her students how to read clues like fingerprints.

In the “Be a Detective” class the third and fourth graders learn how to solve real crimes like actual detectives do.  Also, according to the class list information, “they examine how modern crime investigators use cutting-edge scientific discoveries to search for evidence , gather clues and analyze data.”

Ms. Jen Stinner explained why she taught this class: “ It is fun here.” She loves to work with kids.  The thing she loves most about this class is watching the kids  learn.  Although this is her first year teaching this class, Ms. Stinner would like to return next year if she is still here.

Ilan Quintana said he likes this class because “It’s FUN!”  He took “Be a Detective” because he knew he would like It.

Kevin Fox replied, “I like this class because of the adventures.” Also, he explained that some of the fun things they did in class were looking at footprints and fingerprints.

In “Be a Detective” the students made name tags and  took fingerprints. They also learned how to examine fibers. On Friday they solved a mystery crime that they would not reveal ahead of time.

Lets Expore

“Let’s Explore” is this year’s theme for Lycoming College’s College for Kids and Teens.

The director with five-year tenure, Mrs. Robin Van Auken, has created the themes and designed the shirts all these years by herself.

Robin has already started thinking about next year’s design and theme, and she may have an assistant help her.

“2001 was my favorite design and theme that I did,” said Robin.
