Lycoming Student Takes First Place 

at Student Chemists Convention

Zachary Shiffler, a Lycoming College junior chemistry major from Phoenixville, won first place for original research in the Inorganic Division at the 65th Annual Intercollegiate Student Chemists (ISC) Convention. The convention was held April 21 at Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland. Shiffler did his research under the direction of Dr. Charles H. Mahler, assistant professor of chemistry at Lycoming College. 

In addition to Shiffler, three other students were chosen to present their research. They were Christopher Micklitsch of Jersey Shore, Tanzina Mirza of Williamsport, Christy Rosselli of Morrisdale, all of whom did research under the direction of Dr. Chriss McDonald, associate professor of chemistry.
