Lycoming College brings to the
stage the Arthur Miller classic, A View from the Bridge.
The production, directed by Dr.
Robert F. Falk, chair of the Theatre Department, runs April 3-7,
with 8:00 p.m. performances nightly in the Mary L. Welch Theatre. |
 |
| The
view in the play is from the Brooklyn Bridge into the home and
life and longshoreman Eddie Carbone, his wife, Beatrice, and his
niece, Catherine. Eddie's life takes turn when his wife's two
cousins come to live with the Carbones. Entering the country
illegally, the cousins need to hide from the immigration
authorities. When one of them takes a liking to Catherine, Eddie's
world begins to unravel.
ISays
director Bob Falk, "I'm doing the play because I think it's
one of Miller's best, after [Death of a] Salesman. And I saw a
great production of it in 1968, which I will always remember.
Finally, I think it is one of those Miller plays that is
accessible to student actors."
The 17-member cast features Kyle
Thatcher (Easton) as Eddie, Tara Oakley (Andover, N.J.) as
Beatrice, Destiny Zeiders (Mifflintown) as Catherine, Frank
Lombardo (Yatesville) as Marco, Ricky Vitanovec (Tamaqua) as
Rodolpho and Matt Zarzyczny (Williamsport) as Alfieri.
Tickets are $10 and are available
