joined the faculty of Lycoming College. |

AMY CARTAL-FALK
of Montoursville, joins the Foreign Language Department a full-time
Instructor in French and Spanish. A graduate of Lycoming College,
she has a master's degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
A doctoral candidate at Penn State, she has completed extensive
dissertation research in France. She had been a part-time language
instructor at Lycoming.

DON J. ELLER
joins the Theatre faculty as an assistant professor. Eller
received his M.F.A. in Lighting Design from Western Illinois
University and his B.A. from Southern Oregon University. He was most
recently the Master Electrician at Indiana University’s Theatre
and Drama Center. His specialty is lighting design, technical
direction and sound engineering.

MEGHAN GRIFFITH
joins the philosophy department as a visiting instructor. Griffith,
a native of Williamsport, received her B.A. from Bucknell
University in philosophy and classics, and she is currently a
doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts.

JOANNA M. HOLCOLMBE
is an assistant professor and instructional services librarian. She
received her B.A. in English from Davidson College and her M.S. in
Information Science at the University of Tennessee. She has worked
in the cataloging department at the University of South Carolina's
Thomas Cooper Library and the collection development and management
department of Hodges Library, University of Tennessee. She also was
a Web designer with the University's Agricultural Experiment
Station. Prior to joining the faculty at Lycoming College, she was a
cataloging resource professional at Brodart.

MARLA JONES,
joins the faculty as an instructor of education: She is a doctoral
candidate at The Pennsylvania State University. She served as the
Acting Director of the Master in Science Education Program at
Lebanon Valley College where she has also been an adjunct faculty
member. Most recently Jones taught 6th grade science in
the Central Dauphin School District.

KERRY ANN KING
is a visiting instructor of economics. King has a master's degree in
economics from the University of Pittsburgh where she won the
Slesinger Prize in Economics. A graduate of West Virginia University
with dual degrees in economics and mathematics, she is currently
working on an input-output analysis involving the public and private
education systems. Kerry is working on her doctorate at the
University of Pittsburgh.

BONITA KOLB
joins the business administration department as an assistant
professor. Before joining the Lycoming College faculty, Bonita was
director of the M.B.A. Program and an associate professor of
marketing at Long Island University (LIU), where she taught both
undergraduate and graduate courses. Bonita earned a Ph.D. in
business management and an M.S. in human resource management from
Golden Gate University in San Francisco. Her undergraduate degree in
management is from Alaska Pacific University.
Kolb's research interests are in arts
and cultural marketing. She has published articles in the
International Journal of Arts Management, the Journal of Cultural
Economics, and the Journal of Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector
Marketing. She has also published a book: "Marketing Cultural
Organizations: New Strategies for Attracting Audiences to Classical
Music, Dance, Museums, Theatre and Opera."

DIANE LANGLEY
of Williamsport has joined the Lycoming College faculty as a visiting
instructor of business administration. Langley has been a
part-time instructor at the college. She earned her master's and
bachelor's degrees in Communications at Bloomsburg University. She
is also the principal of Langley Communications Corporation, which
offers programs in communications, conflict resolution, long-range
planning and other topics for business, government and nonprofit
organizations. The Williamsport Area Management Association named
her firm the "Company of the Month" for April 2002.
Langley has published articles in various journals and has acted as
the ghost writer/editor for a special supplement of the American
Journal for Preventive Medicine ("Injuries in the
Military"). She also created and hosted a local medical
television show ("Medical Straight Talk") for seven years.

JOSEPH LIPAR
joins the biology department as an assistant professor. Lipar's
special interests include physiologist, endocrinology,
animal behavior and ornithology.
He received bachelor's degrees in zoology and biochemistry from
Michigan State University and a doctorate in biology from Indiana
University. He spent two years in a post-doctoral position at
Washington State University.

LISA MODY McNERNEY is
a new visiting instructor in Spanish. She is currently in the graduate
program at Bloomsburg University. She has bachelor's degrees
from the University of Oregon in both geography and environmental
studies. Her career shift toward Spanish was inspired in part by her
year-long study in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as a Rotary scholarship
recipient.

Dr. MICHAEL MUSHENO, joins the
faculty as visiting Special Professor of Justice and Policy Studies.
Musheno is joins the
faculty as visiting Special Professor of Justice and Policy Studies.
Musheno is a native of the
Williamsport area and a graduate of South Williamsport High School.
He graduated magna cum laude from Lycoming College in political
science. He has a master's degree and a doctorate from The American
University in Washington, D.C. He has taught at Brooklyn College of
the City University of New York, and the University of Minnesota. He
moved on to the School of Justice Studies at Arizona State
University in 1977 and achieved a full professorship in 1981. He
remained in that post at Arizona State through May 2002, serving as
the chair and director of the School, the director of the University
Committee on Law and the Social Sciences, head of the HIV Studies,
director of the Center for Urban Inquiry, and Coordinator of the
Multi-disciplinary Committee on Conflict Studies.
He took a number of leaves from
Arizona State, including a year as a visiting scholar and director
of the Law and Social Sciences Program at the National Science
Foundation in Washington, D.C., and as a visiting scholar and Bush
Fellow at Yale University. He is an author of seven books and over
40 academic articles and book chapters on issues of crime, law and
justice. He is co-author of a forthcoming book entitled Cops,
Teachers, Counselors: Stories from the Front Lines of Public Stories,
scheduled for publication by the University of Michigan Press in
Spring 2003.

Dr. N. J. STANLEY joins the
theatre faculty as an assistant professor. She received a
Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington; a M.F.A. from Florida
State University, Tallahassee; and a B.S. from Louisiana State,
Baton Rouge. Stanley has taught at St. Lawrence University, Canton,
N.Y.; Franklin and Marshall College, Bucknell University, Agnes
Scott College, and Central Michigan University. She has also been an
Acting Instructor at the Walt Disney Feature Animation in Burbank,
Calif. Her specialties included acting, directing, theatre history
and literature.

HOWARD TRAN
joins the art department as a visiting assistant professor.
Born in Vietnam, Tran grew up in San Jose, California. He attended
the Academy of Art in San Francisco, where he graduated with a B.F.A.
in sculpture. He also has his M.F.A. in sculpture from Boston
University.

Dr. JONATHAN WILLIAMSON joins
the political science department as an assistant professor.
He received his doctorate in political science at Emory University
from where he received a master's degree. His undergraduate degree,
with a dual major in political science and psychology, is from the
University of Houston (Texas). He has taught at Agnes Scott College,
Reinhardt College and Emory University. His teaching and research
interests include American political parties, state and local
politics, and American government.

Dr. ERIC WISNIEWSKI joins the
chemistry department as a visiting assistant professor.
Wisniewski has a Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State
University. He completed his undergraduate studies at Shepherd
College in Shepherdstown, W.Va. |
