Lindsay
Vosburg of Silver Springs, N.Y., a senior at Lycoming College, has
won a $5,000 National Fellowship Scholarship from Phi Kappa Phi, the
nation’s most selective honor society for all academic disciplines.
Lindsay was
nominated for the scholarship by the Lycoming College chapter of Phi
Kappa Phi. Each chapter nominates the best candidate from its own
members and sends their application to the national headquarters.
There, a Phi Kappa Phi committee reviews the nominees’ applications
and selects the best applicants to receive the scholarship.
Lindsay is a double-major in Archaeology
and Culture of the Ancient Near East and History. She is a 2003
graduate of Letchworth Central High School in New York. Her future
plans include attending the University of Toronto in the fall to
pursue her Master’s degree in Museum Studies.
Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and
largest honor society, awards 60 Fellowship Awards of $5,000 to
members entering their first year of graduate school or professional
study.
Founded in 1812 in
Williamsport, Lycoming College is a liberal arts and sciences
college dedicated to the undergraduate education of the 1,500
students. The College, one of the 50 oldest colleges in the nation,
is recognized as one of the 212 national liberal arts colleges in
