Dr. Gene Sprechini
was honored with the 2007 Constance Cupp Plankenhorn Alumni Award
for Faculty Excellence. Dr. Sprechini is an associate professor of
mathematical sciences. He is a member of the American Statistical
Association and is the coordinator of the College’s Actuarial
Mathematics program. He received his bachelor’s degree from Wilkes
College, and earned his master’s and Ph.D. from SUNY at Binghamton.
Dr. Alka Gandhi
was the recipient of the 2007 Junior Faculty Teaching Award for
excellence in teaching. She is currently an assistant professor of
Economics at Lycoming. She completed her undergraduate education at
Duke University, her master’s at University of Kansas, and her Ph.D.
from Ohio State University.

Dr. Timothy Carter
received the Makisu Award, which the student body presents to a
faculty member for extraordinary service and dedication. Dr. Carter
is associate professor and Chair of the Department of Criminal
Justice. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at
University of South Carolina, and his Ph.D. in Administration of
Justice at the Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Mehrdad Madresehee
received The Robert and Mary Jackson Shangraw Professorship,
recognizing an outstanding professor in the business, economics or
accounting programs. Dr. Madresehee is a professor of economics and
the director of the College’s Institute for Management Studies. He
earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tehran, a
master’s from the National University of Iran, a master’s from the
University of Idaho, and a Ph.D. from Washington State University.
