The popular Concerts at Noon Series at Lycoming
College begins its 24th season on October 2 with a twist. This year,
the concerts have been moved to Thursday noontime instead of Friday.
The October 2 concert brings "Latin Rhythms" to
Clarke Chapel when the trio of cellist Andrew Rammon and pianists
Yvonne Lundquist, Gary Boerckel and Bethany Mingle take on the infectious folk
rhythms of Latin America that have inspired both native and foreign
composers.
Dr. Gary Boerckel is chair of the Lycoming
College music department while Yvonne Lundquist and Andrew Rammon
teach piano and cello at the College.
Bethany Mingle is a junior music and biology major from Martinsburg,
Pa.
The noontime audience is invited to bring a
bag lunch to the concert (nothing crunchy please), and coffee and
tea are provided.
The concert series will include three other
concerts: "Macabre Merriment" on Thursday October 30, the "Music on
Brahms" on Thursday, November 20; and a Student Recital on Thursday,
December 4.
