Artist Couple Featured in Lycoming College Gallery

LM Wood and David
Schaeffer, two artists at Elon University in North Carolina, share
the Lycoming College Gallery for its next exhibition, which opens
Thursday, November 6, 2003. A public reception and gallery talk
begin at 4 p.m. The show of mixed media that will include digital
photography, blown glass and sculpture continues through December 7. |

| LM Wood
is an assistant professor of art at Elon University currently
teaching all levels of courses in Digital Art. She will exhibit
digital art, including digital art printed on fiber, at Lycoming
College. Wood has a bachelor’s degree in Photography and Handmade
Paper from Moorhead State University and an MFA in photography from
the University of Cincinnati. She also has an MFA in Fibers from
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. |
She has
exhibited her work in North Carolina, Illinois, Minnesota, North
Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Massachusetts.
She has received grants from North Carolina Arts Council, the
Kentucky Foundation for Women, Southern Illinois University as well
as Elon University. |

Schaeffer is a professional artist who is the gallery director at
Elon University as well as an adjunct instructor in digital art.
Schaeffer is a glass artist at Resnick Thermal Lab in Chapel Hill,
N.C, where he teaches advanced glass blowing classes. |
Schaeffer has an associate’s degree in technical theatre from Miami
Dade Community College, a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a
BFA in Sculpture from Florida International University, an MFA in
Sculpture from the University of Cincinnati, and an MFA in Glass
from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. |
He and his wife, LM Wood, co-founded Eclectic
Moose Studio in Covington, Kentucky. They then moved to Fargo, N.D.,
where they both taught at Moorhead State University and worked closely
with the Lake Agassiz Arts Council doing numerous community art events.
Eventually, they relocated the Eclectic Moose Studio to Murphysboro,
Ill.
Schaeffer has exhibited both regionally and
nationally. He and Wood have organized and mounted several shows
together including "aRT/IC" in Fargo, N.D.; Restrooms public and
private, an art exchange; and Multi-Mini: an exchange of art involving 9
artists from 9 different states.
