First Exhibition of the Year
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College announces the opening of the first art exhibition of the year on September 18. Digital artist Ambler Hutchinson will present a solo exhibition entitled "Interiors/Exteriors." Opening reception and artist talk begins at 4 p.m.  The exhibition will run through October 18.

Hutchinson hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where she studied biology and anthropology at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. She went on to study wildlife and anthropology abroad at the School for Field Studies in Kenya, East Africa.

She received her Master’s of Fine Arts in photography from Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah Georgia.

She is currently an instructor of Digital Imaging for photography majors at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida.

As a student, she was awarded the Independent Creative Achievement Award and the Presidential Fellowship from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

In 2001 she was awarded "Best in Show" at the 54th Annual Twilight Park Art Exhibition in Haines Falls, New York, and the 2001 Photography Competition at the Pietra di Luna Gallery and Print Studio in Hollywood, Florida.

Hutchinson has presented several solo exhibits in Florida, Georgia, New York and Indiana. She’s been featured in several two-person exhibitions in Ohio, Florida, and Illinois and group exhibitions in Colorado, Arizona, Ohio, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, New York, Texas, Iowa, Minnesota, Kentucky, and New Mexico.

Hutchinson says through her digital collages she experiences "a sense of recognition even though none of the images or objects are directly taken from my life. This process allows for an intimate interaction between myself and the materials."

The Lycoming College Gallery, located in the Snowden Library.  This exhibit is free to the public.
