BIG BROTHERS/BIG SISTERS


The mission of Big Brothers/Big Sisters at Lycoming College is to provide a community resource for children at risk and in need of a positive role model to support their growth and development through a volunteer structure program with the students of Lycoming College. Through one-to-one matches, the student volunteers help these children enhance their self-esteem, personal safety, study skills and set goals for the future. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY


Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical ministry deciated to eliminate poverty housing around the world. THe College campus chapter assists the local affiliate and participates in the Spring Break Collegiate Challenge. See http://www.lycoming.edu/orgs/habitat for more information.


CROP

An agency of Church World Service CROP works to address the issues of world hunger and develop programs to enable people to become self supporting. Each year students join hundreds of walkers in the Williamsport area to raise money for CROP.


F.L.O.A.T.

Initiated through a grant from AmeriCorps, F.L.O.A.T. is a tutoring/mentroing program provided by Lycoming College Students. Volunteers work with an after school program and tutor at-risk students at Cochran Elementary School.
