Keyes graduated from Wesleyan University in 1848 and taught school in Livingston VA before entering the ministry.  He is the author of the 1872 book Wesley and Swedenborg: A Fraternal Appeal to Methodist Ministers, Inviting Them to Consider the Relations of Methodism to the New Church.  An obituary/biography of E.R. Keyes appears in the Swedenborgian publication The New Jerusalem Messenger 51:332. Note:  Not much is known about John Kimberlin.  Goodrich’s 1898 The Centennial History of Dryden, New York reports the following: "The Reverend John Kimberlin, who had travelled thousands of miles on horseback through the wilds of New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio as an early Methodist circuit rider, came to Dryden [between Ithaca and Cortland]about the year 1815, and bought from Selden Andrus the place now known as the Bryant Farm, one-half mile west of Fox's Corners, where he lived until his death, which occurred in 1853 at the age of 72 years. At his request, he was buried directly underneath the spot where the pulpit had stood in the old Asbury red meeting house, which had burned a few years before [in 1844] and where he [and also Francis Asbury] had preached so many times."  A limited biography of John Kimberlin appears in Chaffee’s 1904 History of the Wyoming Conference, page 202.

Note: One secular account reports that “Dr. Krohn is one of Kansas’ ablest speakers.”  Philip Krohn entered the newspaper business, purchasing the Atchison KS Weekly Campion and Press in 1889.  He appears to have retired to and/or re-entered the ministry (affiliation unknown) in Tioga County NY in 1900.
