The Freedom of Religion

In today's so-called modern times, one would expect our society to be open and accepting to those beliefs or actions deemed different from the norm, but this is not the case. While there are open-minded individuals, mob mentality still rules the way we live as a whole. The desire for acceptance forces those who are weak to conform, or to let their personal opinions or beliefs fall by the wayside. Our nation was founded on the principle of freedom of religion so that no man would be persecuted for his beliefs, and modern society seems to have forgotten that.
