Student Voice Mail

The College's Voice Mail provides automated answering and message storage when your line is busy as well as when you do not answer.  You will hear an interrupted "stutter" dial tone whenever there is a message left for you on Voice Mail.

You’ll find that all voice mailboxes have been pre-activated in all Resident halls to allow students  to set up their Voice Mailboxes.

Check your Voice Mailbox for messages before moving out. Voice Mail will be cleared to allow the next student to set up his/her Voice Mailbox.  You must notify the Telecommunications office at extension 4074 of any room changes to receive the Voice Mailbox number associated with your extension.

Each student has access to their own, private voicemail box. The first time you enter your voicemail box, the system will "talk you through" your voicemail session, explaining how to set up your mailbox with your personalized greeting, name and security code.  Before beginning, think of a security code that you will remember  and the greeting that you want your callers to hear. See below for sample greetings

SET UP  GENERAL MESSAGE FOR YOUR RESIDENT HALL EXTENSION TO REFLECT YOU & YOUR ROOMMATES' NAMES:
    1. Start by calling the voice mail system: 4999

Press 1 for name, Press    2 for name" WAIT couple seconds and press #).

PLEASE NOTE:  RA’s, contract singles, or if your roommate doesn’t request voice mail: Your mailbox has been assigned a number
(press 1 or Press 2), therefore, you still need to indicate your designated number in the general message in order for someone to leave
        you a message. EX:
Bob and Ray share a room.  Bob is “press 1” and Ray is “press 2”.  Bob doesn’t wish to use voice mail.  The general
message would say “Hi, you’ve reached Ray, to leave me a message, press 2.”
