"And Gladly Teach..."  Bringing Excitement to the Classroom

This was Lycoming College's 3rd biennial Conference on Teaching Excellence.  The featured presenter was  Douglas Eder, Ph.D., Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Assessment and the Undergraduate Research Academy at Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.  Dr. Eder has presented at over four dozen national and regional conferences , consulted on assessment with almost 70 US institutions of higher learning from Canada to the Caribbean, and published numerous articles on the subject of authentic assessment.

The conference began with an afternoon workshop on Thursday with Dr. Eder entitled "Putting Assessment in its Place:  Reviving, Surviving, and even Thriving," followed by a social evening on the campus.

Friday's schedule consisted of a full morning of sessions culminating in a luncheon/ keynote address, "Juggling, Dogs, and Assessment:  The Importance of Feedback. Critical Thinking, and Punctuation" by our featured presenter, Dr. Douglas Eder.
