Rescheduled for March 11: William Nieves - released from 8 years on death row in October 2000.
March 7: Judge Tom Raup will discuss death penalty sentencing laws and be joined on the panel by York County Senior Judge Emanuel Cassimatis and Tom Wilson, who served as foreman of a jury for a capital case.

Ethical Issues in Business
 March 13

Inmates from Allenwood Federal Prison Camp will discuss their descent from high-level business professionals to white collar criminals and the impact of their ethical mistakes


Alternatives for Sentencing and Incarceration

There will be a panel discussion of alternatives to incarceration. The panel will include William Love, deputy secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections; Greg Smith, director of Transitional Living Center, Inc.; and Barbara Toews-Shenk of the PA Prison Society, who will speak on Restorative Justice. She will also be available to visit classrooms.

Tuesday, March 26: Presentation by Melissa Whaley/ Sam Chamberlain called Outside the Walls, an interdisciplinary multi-layered performance of dance, music, video and stories that explores the complexity of the lives of those whose loved ones have been in prison. Sam was incarcerated for six years on a marijuana charge and will also give a half-hour talk on that experience.
A campus dance group will participate and the lighting design class of Jaye Beetem's will do the lighting and staging.

The Larry Strauser Memorial Lecture: "Women in Prison"

Monique Hoeflinger, Esquire, the founding director of the Women’s Prison Project based in Cincinnati, Ohio, will be speaking about the issues of women in prison. The goals of the project are education and empowerment of women prisoners, legal advocacy community outreach to  advocates for women, and coalition building.  The project is committed to developing new ways of addressing the gendered dimension of imprisonment


Juvenile Justice

Presentation by Tom Bernard and a panel discussion on juvenile justice issues. Ed Robbins, local juvenile parole supervisor, and Lycoming County Judge William Kieser, who specializes in juvenile cases will be among the panel members.
Chris Ruhlman, President of the Lycoming College Criminal Justice Society, and now doing an internship with Robbins, will also participate.


All presentations are open to the public and will be held  at 7 p.m.,
