The Fall Symposium will explore the many responses evoked by the tragedy of the terrorist acts of 9/11/01.
Beginning with a service of remembrance, the schedule will include a filmmaker from Third World News presenting a series of short films about the event, an expert on Iraq and its
involvement, political science professors addressing the international situation, a panel of students discussing their responses, and a closing speaker who will address the themes of "Peace, Reconciliation, and Healing."

Laurie Mylroie will be speaking about who was really behind 9-11, our bungled intelligence efforts, and the need to
invade Iraq. This Harvard PhD is an internationally recognized expert on Iraq and the Middle East. Her new book
is Study of Revenge: Saddam Hussein's Unfinished War Against America.

Concurrent Highlights
The
Library Archives and the Lycoming Scholars will conduct an Oral History project,
compiling student memories of that terrifying day.
A Lycourier
issue will be devoted to 9/11 and the Symposium events.
The
library will display photos taken by Prof. Lynn Estomin at the peace rally on
Union Square held shortly after the attack.
A
billboard entitled "Imagine World Peace" will be on Little League
Boulevard through September and October.
