Warriors on Wrong End of Shutout
Annville, Pa. –
Lycoming College women’s tennis started 2005 in a less than
desirable fashion in dropping its opening match to Lebanon Valley
College 9-0. The Warriors fell in straight sets in all six singles
matches and were no closer than four points in the three doubles
contests.
Closest to
garnering points for the Warriors were seniors Josie
Castillo (Maracaibo, Venezuela/Muncy) and Kate Petcavage
(Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport). Castillo came up a break short in
her two sets in number one singles action. She fell to Leslie Sabas 6-4,
6-4. Petcavage won four games in her match against Jenny
Larson, but came up short in both sets 6-2, 6-2.
Lycoming next
travels to Messiah College on Monday, September 9. Play is
scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
