WARRIOR WOMEN’S TENNIS DROPS TIGHT MATCH TO LEBANON VALLEY

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s tennis team hosted Lebanon Valley College, Thursday afternoon, for their season opener. The Warriors started strong, winning two-of-three doubles matches, but were able to claim just two singles victories falling to the Dutchmen, 5-4.

Josemar Castillo (Jr./Maracaibo, Venezuela; Claret and Muncy) and Lauren Paich (So./Stanhope, N.J.; Lenape Valley) teamed up at first doubles for an 8-1 win. Kate Petcavage (Jr./Williamsport, Pa.; Williamsport) and Katie Koury (Sr./Mansfield, Pa.; Mansfield) added an 8-5 victory at second doubles.

In singles action, Paich and Koury accounted for Lycoming’s two wins. Paich won 6-2, 6-0, in the second position. Koury won 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, in the fifth position.

The Warriors play again on Saturday, September 4, at DeSales University. The match will begin at 1 p.m.
