WARRIOR WOMEN’S TENNIS COMES UP ONE SHORT OF KING’S

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s tennis team hosted King’s College, Wednesday afternoon, for a Freedom Conference match. The Warriors split the singles matches with the Monarchs, but won just one-of-three doubles matches to fall to King’s 4-5. Lycoming drops to 0-5, while the Monarchs improve to 2-3.

Erin Horsley (Sr./Allegany, N.Y.; Allegan) and Katie Koury (Sr./Mansfield, Pa.; Mansfield) teamed up for an 8-5 victory at second doubles to get the Warriors started.

In singles action, Lauren Paich (So./Stanhope, N.J.; Lenape Valley Regional) won in the second position 6-4, 6-2. Koury added her second victory of the day at fifth singles by a score of 7-5, 6-3. Amery Lim (So./Stroudsburg, Pa.; Stroudsburg) accounted for the final team point with a 6-2, 6-0 win at sixth singles.

Lycoming will travel to FDU-Florham for their next match on Saturday, September 18.
