WOMEN’S TENNIS DROPS MATCH AT DREW
MADISON, NJ – The
Lycoming College women’s tennis team traveled to Drew University, Sunday
afternoon, for a Freedom Conference match. The Warriors, however, were
only able to win two points, falling to the Rangers by a score of 7-2.
Lycoming is now 4-3 overall and 3-2 within the conference.
Heidi von Schwedler
(Sr./Tannersville, Pa.; Pocono Mountain)
and Josemar Castillo (So./Maracaibo, Venezuela; Claret and Muncy)
teamed up at number one doubles for one of the Warriors two victories,
winning by an 8-4 score. Von Schwedler and Castillo are now 7-0 as a
doubles team this season.
Castillo also accounted
for the other Lycoming win, topping her opponent at second singles by
scores of 6-3 and 6-4.
The Warriors will
travel to the University of Scranton on Wednesday, October 1, for their
next match.
