WARRIOR WOMEN’S TENNIS
TOPPED BY SUSQUEHANNA
WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The
Lycoming College women’s tennis team suffered just their second loss of
the season, Wednesday afternoon, to Susquehanna University. The Warriors
won 2-of-3 doubles matches, but gave up four singles matches to the
Crusaders to fall 4-5. Lycoming is now 6-2 overall this season.
Susquehanna improves to 7-2.
Cricket Temple
(Sr./Picture Rocks, PA; Hughesville)
and Meredith Moerschbacher (Sr./Montoursville, PA Montoursville)
were victorious at first doubles by a score of 8-3. Josemar Castillo
(Fr./Maracaibo, Venezuela; Muncy) and Heidi von Schwedler
(Jr./Tannersville, PA; Pocono Mountain) won at second doubles by an
identical score.
Moerschbacher and von
Schwedler picked up the only two singles victories for the Warriors.
Moerschbacher won at second singles 7-6(6-2), 6-2. Von Schwedler won at
fourth singles 6-0, 6-2.
Lycoming will return to
conference competition on Saturday, October 5, when they travel to Wilkes
University.
