LYCOMING’S TEMPLE PLACES SECOND AT MAC WOMEN’S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

MADISON, NJ – Lycoming College senior Cricket Temple (Picture Rocks, PA; Hughesville) concluded her collegiate career, Saturday afternoon, as the runner-up in the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Singles Championship.

Temple fell to Tara McHugh of Susquehanna University in the championship match by scores of 6-4, and 6-2. Temple advanced to the finals of the singles tournament by defeating Jennifer Genevese of Moravian College, 6-3, 7-5, in the semifinals. She ends the 2002 campaign with a singles record of 12-2.

For her career, Temple compiled a record of 49-6 in singles competition. She also advanced to the championship match of the MAC Singles Tournament three of four years and was the individual conference champion in 1999.
