LYCOMING TENNIS WRAPS UP
REGULAR SEASON WITH WIN
WILLIAMSPORT, PA –
The Lycoming College women’s tennis team completed their regular
season with a 6-3 win over Elizabethtown College, Monday afternoon. The
Warriors end the 2001 campaign with a mark of 9-1 overall. The Blue Jays
fall to 6-4 with the loss.
Lycoming opened the match
by winning 2-of-3 doubles matches. Cricket Temple (Jr./Hughesville, PA;
Hughesville) and Meredith Moerschbacher (Jr./Montoursville, PA;
Montoursville) topped their opponents in the first position, 8-1. Heidi
von Schwedler (So./Tannersville, PA; Pocono Mountain) and Pamela
Zeger (Fr./Potomac, MD; Winston Churchill) were victorious at second
doubles by a score of 8-3.
In singles action,
Temple, Moerschbacher, von Schwedler, and Zeger each added a second win on
the day to give the Warriors the 6-4 team victory.
Lycoming travels to
Moravian College on Wednesday for a semi-final match in the MAC team
tournament.
