ANNVILLE, PA –
The Lycoming College women’s tennis team won their sixth
consecutive match as they defeated Lebanon Valley, 8-1, on the road Sunday
afternoon.
All three doubles teams
won for the Warriors. Cricket Temple (Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville)
and Meredith Moerschbacher (Jr./Montoursville, PA; Montoursville)
won 8-2 at first doubles; Heidi von Schwedler (So./Tannersville, PA;
Pocono Mountain) teamed with Pamela Zeger (Fr./Potomac, MD; Winston
Churchill) for an 8-1 win at second doubles; and Sara Deardorff
(Sr./North Wales, PA; North Penn) joined with Alissa Brown
(Fr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville) in the third slot for an 8-3 win.
In singles action,
Temple, Moerschbacher, von Schwedler, Zeger, and Deardorff all won
handily.
Lycoming is now 7-1
overall. Their next match in Monday, Oct. 8 at home versus Elizabethtown
College. The Warriors will then begin competition in the MAC team
playoffs, traveling to Moravian College on Saturday, Oct. 13 for a
semi-final match.
