TENNIS SWEEPS WILKES
WILLIAMSPORT, PA –
The Lycoming College women’s tennis team improved to 7-1 overall
and 5-1 within the MAC Freedom Conference with a 9-0 sweep of Wilkes
University on Saturday.
Cricket Temple
(Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville)
and Meredith Moerschbacher (Jr./Montoursville, PA; Montoursville)
recorded an 8-4 win at first doubles. Heidi von Schwedler
(So./Tannersville, Pocono Mountain) and Pamela Zeger (Fr./Potomac,
MD; Winston Churchill) followed with a win at second doubles by the
same score. The Warriors received a win-by-forfeit in the third position.
Moerschbacher, von
Schwedler, and Zeger all picked up a second victory in singles action. Alissa
Brown (Fr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville) and Sara Deardorff
(Sr./North Wales, PA; North Penn) added wins at the fourth and fifth
positions respectively. Lycoming won sixth singles by forfeit.
