LYCOMING TENNIS SUFFERS
FIRST LOSS OF SEASON
WILLIAMSPORT, PA –
The Lycoming College women’s tennis team dropped their first
match of the season to FDU-Madison, Saturday afternoon. The Devils won
2-of-3 doubles matches and split the singles competition to pull out the
5-4 victory. The Warriors fall to 2-1 on the season. FDU-Madison improves
to 8-0.
Cricket Temple
(Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville)
and Meredith Moerschbacher (Jr./Montoursville, PA; Montoursville)
teamed up for Lycoming’s lone win in doubles action. The duo defeated
Michelle Olas and Jennifer Burke, 8-4.
Temple and Moerschbacher
also recorded wins in singles play. Temple topped Olas in the first
position, 7-6(7-4), 6-0; and Moerschbacher defeated Maggie Grezlak, 6-2,
7-5, at second singles. Pamela Zeger (Fr./Potomac, MD; Winston
Churchill) won the Warriors’ third singles match in the fifth
position over Leyna Bollwage.
Lycoming will host
Elizabethtown College on Monday, September 24.
