WARRIOR TENNIS FALLS TO MORAVIAN IN SEMIFINALS

BETHLEHEM, PA –  The Lycoming College women’s tennis team had their season come to an end Wednesday afternoon at Moravian College. The Greyhounds defeated the Warriors 7-2 in the semifinals of the Middle Atlantic Conference team playoffs. Lycoming ends the season with a mark of 9-2. Moravian remains perfect with a record of 14-0 and advances to the MAC championship match for the eighth consecutive season.

The Greyhounds set the tone early winning all three doubles matches to open the contest. Cricket Temple (Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville) and Pamela Zeger (Fr./Potomac, MD; Winston Churchill) got the Warriors on the board with wins in singles action. Temple was the winner in the first position by scores of 6-1 and 6-3. Zeger was victorious at fourth singles defeating her opponent 2-6, 6-4, 7-5.

The 2001 campaign marks the 9^th consecutive winning season for the Warrior women’s tennis program. Members of the team will compete in the MAC individual singles and doubles tournaments to be held October 19 and 20.
