Women’s Soccer Gives Back to Community

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—New head coach Joe Balduino has a vision for the Lycoming women’s soccer team.

“My coaching philosophy centers on success in the classroom, while gaining the skills necessary to become leaders in the community,” says Balduino. “When I first met with the team, I explained to them that we would be volunteering more often to do our part in giving back to the community.”

And so, the Lady Warriors recently volunteered at Lycoming College’s Taking Back Sunday concert at the recreation center. The squad also played in the Alpha Xi Delta Annual Kick-ball tournament to raise money for the Williamsport YMCA.

While Balduino is excited for next season, for the time being, he’s developing team camaraderie through volunteerism. That’s a win-win situation.
