Lycoming Rolls Over Lancaster Bible Lady Warriors End Dry Spell With 8-0 Win
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—The Lady Warriors (3-5-1) recorded a season-high eight goals as they defeated Lancaster Bible (3-10) on Wednesday. The victory was Lycoming’s first in seven games.
Led by sophomore Melissa Steffenino’s (Pottstown, PA) hat trick (three goals), the Lady Warriors dominated the match. Senior Amanda Smolarek (Cranbury, NJ), who recently converted to midfielder, scored two goals, including one in each half.
With a 3-0 lead at halftime, Lycoming netted five goals in the second half and ran away with a victory that should spark the team. The Lady Warriors’ next match is this Saturday at Delaware Valley at 12:00.
