LYCOMING
WOMEN’S SOCCER WINS THIRD STRAIGHT
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team
competed in their second conference match of the season,
Wednesday afternoon, hosting King’s College. The Warriors scored
two first-half goals and the defense made them stand up limiting
the Monarchs to just one shot in the match. The 2-0 victory
improves Lycoming’s overall record to 7-2 and their conference
record to 2-0. King’s falls to 3-6 and 0-2.
The Warriors
were led by Danielle Curry (Fr./West Chester, Pa.; East)
who scored their first goal and assisted on their second. Kaitlyn
Prairie (Jr./Delran, N.J.; Delran) recorded the assist on
Curry’s goal, and Beth Weixel (Sr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central
Mountain) tallied Lycoming’s second goal.
Jessica
Bennett (Fr./Crofton, Md.; South River)
played 90 minutes in goal for Lycoming and made one save to
record the shutout – the first solo shutout of her collegiate
career. Christine Uhl went the distance in goal for the
Monarchs, making 13 saves.
The Warriors
will travel to Delaware Valley College on Saturday, October 2,
for another conference contest. The game is scheduled to begin
at 1 p.m.
