LYCOMING WOMEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS CEDAR CREST

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team hosted Cedar Crest College, Monday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors dominated offensively, defeating the Falcons 3-1. The victory elevates Lycoming’s overall record to 6-2 on the season.

Danielle Curry (Fr./West Chester, Pa.; East) led the Warriors with all three goals, posting two in the first half and one in the second. Beth Weixel (Sr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) assisted on all three goals.

Ariana Weisenreder (Sr./Pasadena, Md.; Chesapeake) claimed Cedar Crest’s only goal off an assist from Amanda Swartz (Jr./Elysburg, Pa.; Lourdes Regional).

Jessica Bennett (Fr./Crofton, Md.; South River) played 90 minutes in goal for Lycoming and made one save. Stefanie Harrington (Jr./East Hampstead, N.H.; Pinkerton Academy) made 13 saves in goal for the Falcons.

The Warriors will remain home for their next match on Wednesday, September 29.  They will host King’s College for their second Freedom Conference match of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
