WARRIOR WOMEN’S SOCCER DOMINATES HOOD COLLEGE

FREDERICK, Md. – The Lycoming College women’s soccer team traveled to Hood College, Saturday afternoon, for a non-conference match. The Warriors dominated from start to finish, defeating the Blazers 7-0. Lycoming improves to 12-3-1 on the season and sets a new program record for wins in a season. Hood falls to 8-6-1.

Kaitlyn Prairie (Jr./Delran, N.J.; Delran) led the Warriors with two goals and two assists in the contest. Beth Weixel (Sr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) scored two goals, as well, while Danielle Curry (Fr./West Chester, Pa.; East) added one goal and one assist. Joanna Ale (So./Bound Brook, N.J.; Bound Brook) and Patty Spencer (So./Glenside, Pa.; Abington) accounted for Lycoming’s other two goals.

Curry’s goal was her 15^th this season – setting a new single-season record for the Warriors.

Jessica Bennett (Fr./Crofton, Md.; South River) started in goal for Lycoming and played the first half, but was not forced to make a save. Mallory McDonald (Fr./Baltimore, Md.; Perry Hall) played in net for the second half, making one save to preserve the shutout.

The Warriors will travel to the University of Scranton, Tuesday evening, for a key Freedom Conference match.
